MARETERRA'S SEA EXPANSION - TO BE COMPLETED EIGHT MONTHS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

In a rare departure from typical construction timelines, the real estate project Mareterra, which will enlarge Monaco by six hectares in the Mediterranean Sea, is set to be completed in one year, eight months ahead of the initial schedule. The announcement was made by the company Anse du Portier, the promoter of this two-billion-euro project. Although the principality, with its two square kilometers and 39,000 inhabitants, has already undergone a 40-hectare expansion into the sea since the 1950s, this project, initiated in 2015, stands out due to seismic, environmental, and depth challenges, unmatched even in the Middle East.

The future luxury district reclaimed from the sea, adjacent to the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco's elegant convention center, relies on an underwater embankment at a depth of 50 meters. Designed by the firm Valode and Pistre, in collaboration with the Italian architect Renzo Piano, the project comprises five buildings totaling 130 residences and ten villas. Construction on the residences is well underway, with a significant portion already sold.
